Gamers will be excitedly anticipating the release of the new Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Games, which is timed to coincide with the premier of the new Pirates of the Caribbean film: On Stanger Tides, on May 11, 2011.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is available on all the major gaming platforms and, for the first time ever, the same game is available for the handhelds as well as the consoles. There’s also the added bonus of being able to play the game in 3d on the new Nintendo 3 DS without having to wear 3D glasses!

Pirates of the Caribbean games takes you through 20 levels, that feature plot lines from all four Pirates of the Caribbean films:

The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Deadman’s Chest (2006)

At World’s End (2007)

On Stranger Tides (2011)

There’s over 70 characters, some familiar, some new and when you have completed a level as one character you can go back as another and gather treasure that was previously out of reach.

Published by Disney Interactive Studios and developed by Traveller’s Tales, players will be involved in a combination of puzzle solving and combat a the hidden treasure. There’s two modes: solo or co-operative for two players.

You will also be able to choose a crew of up to eight characters, which has reviewers guessing that their help will be needed on some of the levels.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is available to order now.
