TOS & Guidelines
The aim of Pro Articles is to provide you with a Quality site on which you can post your Quality articles and find Quality content in return. And yep, with any luck you may find yourself getting some Quality Backlinks!
To maintain the quality of Pro Articles, articles will be moderated before publication to ensure that they meet our TOS. Every attempt will be made to approve articles within five days of submission, but please note we are a small team and sometimes we get ill or take holidays!
By using Pro Articles, you are agreeing to the following Terms of Service (TOS) and Guidelines.
1. Membership
Membership is open to all
You must be 18 to register for membership of Pro Articles
Pro Articles reserves the right to withdraw membership at any time
All members are required to register with Gravatar
2. Content
You are responsible for all content that you post on Pro Articles, for which you retain copyright
If you post content belonging to a Third Party, for which you have received permission to use, the third party will retain the copyright
Note: Articles may not be posted on Pro Articles, that have been published elsewhere (either in printed or electronic format), even if you have permission from the original author or you are the original author. Limited extracts may be quoted, providing they are properly referenced and credited
Articles shall contain only G-rated content
Articles will only link to G-Rated content
See #6 below for a list of banned topics
Articles shall be a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 1,000 words
Keyword stuffing is not permitted
The Language used must be English
Articles “under construction” shall not be published
If content is required to be removed from the site after Publication, then we will normally give sufficient notice. However, Pro Articles reserves the right to delete content without notice
Members are responsible for backing up their own content
You cannot use your article as storage for remote loading
You must not mislead readers about the origins of the Content contained in your article – if you copy content from Wiki, which is permitted, then it is plagiarism if you don’t add a link to the Wiki article. If you copy content from anywhere else, without the permission of the original author, then it is plagiarism, even if you DO add a link to the source (note: even if the content is “all over the web”, two wrongs don’t make a right!)
You agree not to hijack content from other users’ articles, plagiarize, spam or exploit other users. If we find you have stolen content from Pro Articles, to which you do not own the copyright and posted it on another site, then your membership will probably be terminated and your articles deleted
3. Outbound Links
Articles shall have a maximum of two outbound links
Author Bios shall have a maximum of three outbound links, with NO affiliate links
With the exception of masking URLs to protect affiliate links, members must not redirect readers to links that are different to that stated, e.g telling readers to “visit my site”, when it is not your site is deliberately misleading and a practice that will not be tolerated on Pro Articles
4. Privacy
Pro Articles will never sell or rent your personal information, and you will never receive email from a third party as a result of your relationship with us, unless we specifically ask and you explicitly opt in to allow this
Members are expressly forbidden to collect or store personal data about other users
5. Other stuff
You cannot use Pro Articles to bypass regulations in force on another site – e.g. encouraging ratings swaps or traffic exchanges on sites where it is expressly forbidden
6. Banned topics
Please note that this list is not definitive. The owners of Pro Articles have the right to ban any Article that they believe is in breach of the TOS, Guidelines, ethics and standards in force on the site.
You must not promote, provide or link to any content (including any advertising content) that references, facilitates, contains or uses, the following:
Pro Articles is a G-rated site, so adult content, including swearing and profanities, nudity, sexual terms and/or images of people in positions or activities that are excessively suggestive or sexual is a big No-No – we are not anti-sex, we just believe there is a time and a place and Pro Articles is not the place
Obscene, defamatory, libelous, slanderous and/or unlawful content – in fact anything that could get us sued
Content that infringes upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary right, or that is deceptive or fraudulent (such as pirated material) or breaches confidentiality or could get us arrested
Excessive promotion of liquor, beer, wine or other alcoholic beverages or sale of tobacco products, ammunition and/or firearms – adding alcohol to recipes is OK, (in moderation) but we don’t want to see articles about how to pass a breathalyzer when you are as drunk as a skunk
Gambling, including without limitation, any online casino, sports books, bingo or poker and in case you did not realize, the Lottery IS gambling
Inflammatory religious content
Politically religious agendas and/or any known associations with hate, criminal and/or terrorist activities
Blatant political exploitation for commercial use
Hate speech, whether directed at an individual or a group, and whether based upon the race, disability, sex, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or language of any individual or group
Illegal activity and/or illegal contests, pyramid schemes, multi level marketing, sweepstakes or chain letters
Forex – we hate Forex!
Debt management, loans, credit cards, mortgages, cash gifting, currency trading, ringtones, black hat SEO
Any articles that make promises that in the majority of cases cannot be delivered and are basically Spam and/or Scam. Examples: How to get your Ex back, Strip that Fat, Six pack abs, Acai Berry, Quack medical cures and the latest get rich quick schemes or fashionable miracle cure, diet or health food, in fact whatever happens to be in vogue at the time
“Spam” and other advertising or marketing content that violates the TOS on every reputable website known to man (and woman) – like these sites, we have a Zero Tolerance policy to Spam and serial Spammers
Please note that this list is not definitive and should be taken as General Guidelines. The Moderators of Pro Articles have the right to ban any Article that they believe is in breach of the ethics and standards in force on the site.
Pro Articles reserves to right to amend these TOS & Guidelines at any time. By submitting articles for publication on Pro Articles, you are indicating that you have read, understood and accepted these TOS.
