Simplifying Lasagna with a Delicious No Boil Vegetarian Version

Lasagna is one of my favorite foods!  But preparing it the traditionally way takes so much time, and requires a lot of clean up as well!  For that reason, I didn’t use to make lasagna very often.  That is, until I discovered that you can take out a step and the lasagna will be just as good!   (Even better, I think!) What’s more, it won’t cost you a penny more!

My newest method of making lasagna is to skip the step of boiling the noodles.  That saves not only electricity, effort, and clean up, but also makes it so much easier to lay the noodles in the pan.  Instead of messing around with wet, flexible noodles, you simply pour a layer of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the pan, lay your uncooked noodles on top of the sauce, cover with another layer of sauce, and add your filling ingredients, before beginning the steps again.  Please note that no-boil lasagna does take a little longer to cook in the oven, but it takes less preparation time and is so much easier to prepare!

Oh, by the way, you don’t need to purchase the special “no-boil” lasagna noodles.  Any lasagna noodles will work!  I have used both whole wheat lasagna noodles, as well as regular lasagna noodles.  They both take the same amount of time in the oven and work wonderfully by this method!
