Decorate With Granny Chic Interior Design

A trend being used in the interior design field right now is to decorate in the Granny Chic style. It is a fun way to add the charm and warmth of the things that Grandma used to have in her home to the furniture and accessories that are available in today’s shops.

Decorating with Granny Chic allows you to add vintage pieces that might be just a little shabby or nostalgic to any room in your home. Pick items that have those big old cabbage roses in the pattern or ornate picture frames like Granny used to have in her home. Take items that might have been used for one purpose by Grandma and give it a new function in your room. One example would be to take a pretty cream and sugar set and use it in your bathroom to hold your cotton swabs and cotton balls.

Using Quilts isn’t just for the bedroom when you decorate in the Granny Chic style. Find a quilt that you love and use it for a throw in the living room or find an old “cutter” quilt and make some fun and funky pillows out of the part that isn’t tattered or stained.

The trick to decorating in Granny Chic is to find new purpose for old items, combine vintage with new, but most of all add the charm of Granny into your room’s personality.
