Improve Your Home With Pendant Lighting

January 28, 2011 | Author: | Posted in Improvement

One way to do a little home improvement is to update the light fixtures. Pendant lighting can be used to replace outdated lighting around the home no matter what your reasons are for the improvement.  You can choose to do this before you place your house on the market to sell or it is a quick way to change the look of a home that you have just purchased. Sometimes, we just get tired of that look we have had for a decade or two and changing the light fixtures will make a remarkable difference in the way a room looks and feels.

What is pendant lighting anyway? The easy answer is fixtures that hang from the ceiling. They can be from a rod of varying degrees or even a chain. Pendant lights can be hung over a kitchen counter, a dining room table, an entryway, or even the bathroom. A chandelier is considered pendant lighting with the difference being that it has several branches. Pendant lighting can be a single light or they can be hung in groups over a large area.  The fixtures can be decorative or utilitarian or both.

Typically when choosing pendant lighting we want to go with a look that follows the theme of the room or perhaps even defines the decorating scheme of the room and home.  A great look for an Arts and Craft home or a Mid-Century Modern look is the Quoizel Pendant Lighting in the Utopia pattern. You can choose a style that works best for your home decor and have fun creating a look that fits your personality. Pendant lighting can really make a quick home improvement, all you need is your imagination.
