Xbox 360 Slim with Kinect

The Xbox 360 Slim with Kinect promises to become a best seller in the gaming world. Upon it’s release in late 2010 (just in time for Christmas shopping), Amazon was soon restricting buyers to one Kinect Sensor per customer.

Of course this was bad news for would be “entrepreneurs” who were planning take a gamble on the Kinects selling out before Christmas, whereupon they would make a killing by selling off their surplus on eBay. It’s amazing how much desperate parents will pay above the odds in order not to disappoint their kids on Christmas Day!

So what is so special about Kinect and Xbox and how does it work?

The XBox 360 Kinect offers  a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience”. It has been released by Microsoft as an add-on for the Xbox 360 video game platform.

The Kinect 360 uses three cameras to sense players’ body movements and it can also also uses voice recognition to identify individual players. This  enables players to control and interact with the XBox 360, without the need for game controllers. Kinect promises to be the ultimate gaming experience.

Microsoft have also announced that future plans include supporting Kinect by PCs via Windows 8.
