One of the most interesting events in Cleveland OH begins on March 24, 2011, the Cleveland International Film Festival, run by the Cleveland Film Society.  For the last several years, this festival has taken place at downtown Cleveland’s historic Tower City Center which is adjacent to the famous Cleveland skyscraper, Terminal Tower.

The film festival is one of the biggest spring events in Cleveland, OH bringing visitors from around the world, both film makers, and film aficionados to view full feature and short films from around the world.  One of this year’s popular films is sure to be the new documentary on the life of Cleveland gangster, Danny Greene, The Rise and Fall of the Irishman.

In the last four years, there has been an art festival that coincides with the Cleveland International Film Festival, the Tower City Arts Festival, run by Lisa Nemeth of NorthCoast Promotions, Inc.  Nemeth expects this year’s Arts Festival to be the best one yet, with the growth of the event, and the growth of the popular Film Festival.

The Film Festival has grown in popularity each year, and this year looks to be even bigger.  Festival goers have the option of seeing just one film, or buying passes of varying lenghts, for one day, or the entire length of the festival.  Many people camp out at Tower City for the entire length of the festival, seeing 5 or 6 films each day.  You don’t have to be that die hard of a fan, though, to enjoy the films that you would not get to see anywhere else, or at least without traveling far to see.
