Chinese Astrological Signs

Over the past year I have become fascinated by Chinese Astrological Signs. It should not have been a surprise to me, because ever since I was a teenager, Western Astrology is something I have dabbled with from time to time. I even learned how to chart my horoscope.

But it was only when I was trying to find a topic for a new Squidoo lens in January 2010, that I decided to look at writing about the Chinese Year of the Tiger. I have to admit the idea came to me while viewing another page on Squidoo. This page was already getting traffic, but I had one of those “What a great topic, but I bet I could do it differently” moments.

So, I started doing some research on Chinese astrology and decided to give it a go. I did my keyword research (of course) and then looked at how I could pull together a lens about something in which I was very interested but knew very little.

I have enjoyed my learning journey about Chinese Astrology and it makes me want to learn more. It has also led me to develop a new niche on Squidoo but it was only recently that I realised that I did not know anything about how the Chinese Astrological signs were chosen.

Then as I was researching information about that, I realised that my Chinese Astrology pages on Squidoo were all directing traffic to another site, where people could find out their Chinese Astrological Signs.

This led to another “lightbulb” moment. Why, I thought, direct traffic to another site, when I could direct visitors to my OWN page to find out their Chinese Zodiac sign?

As a result Chinese Astrological Signs, not only contains the mythology about how the signs were chosen, it also has a list of dates so visitors can also check which sign they were born under.
