In most countries the population is very mixed. Sometimes because of immigration. Take a city like London, for example. This metropolis is full of people from every corner of the earth. Some areas are full of one kind of immigrants, it’s like walking in Asia or Africa going to these places. Food and restaurants with any kind of food abound. It is really very interesting to check out different cultures and people, all within a small area.

In other countries, the population is mixed with a lot of different tribes and people, all belonging to the place. Africa in general is a good example of this, there is probably no country in Africa where everybody speak only one language or are of a single origin. In Nigeria, there are close to 400 tribes and many more languages!

As tourism in Africa grows, so is the interest in these different tribes. In many places this has brought mixed blessings. In many countries the development has led to a change for many tribes. There are no longer vast savannas or forests where they can raise their cattle or hunt, for example. This has led to economical problems and even starvation among some people. The permission of visitors to see the culture and take pictures bring much-needed money to the tribe.

On the other hand, a lot of exposure to the rest of the world has led to a decline in traditions, sometimes even a sense of shame over their culture. Many young ones are leaving the old ways of doing things, but are not really integrated into the society outside. A number of tribes have also been seriously decimated by disease brought in by others.

While it is very interesting with different cultures, it is also of utmost importance to respect others. This applies to both the Western world, with immigrants, as well as to tribes and people living in their own countries!
