Old Slogans For Coffee
Coffee advertising slogans are some of the most remembered and successful advertising campaigns from the past. So, what has happened to those wonderful old slogans for coffee from the past? We are all still drinking a lot of coffee, yet we just don’t have the great old coffee advertising that we used to.
Coffee is still very big business. I recently read that coffee is second only to oil in commodities of the world. Perhaps the advertising agencies have a more difficult time with successful ad campaigns because we have shifted in the way we brew coffee. Many people have switched to the single serve brewing machines like the Keurig Single Serve Gourmet Coffee System that give us so many options for flavors of coffee. By using the k-cups for the Keurig, the consumer is not limited to a specific brand of coffee.
With this difference in our purchasing coffee to drink, we no longer have sweet little ladies like Mrs. Olsen who used to step into our homes in those black and white TV commercials. Remember she used to help the housewives make a better pot with coffee sayings like, “Use a coffee with better flavor, dear. Folgers is mountain grown and that is the richest kind.” Mrs. Olsen saved plenty of marriages back in her day with the coffee advertising slogans for Folgers.
How many of you remember some of these slogans for coffee?
- Fill it to the rim with Brim (Brim Decaffeniated Coffee)
- Good to the last drop (Maxwell House Coffee)
- The best part of waking up…is Folgers in your cup (Folgers)
- Celebrate the moments of your life (General Foods International Coffees)
- Everything you love about coffee (Sanka)
I sort of miss these old coffee sayings and coffee advertising slogans. The lack of them hasn’t made me drink less coffee, nor the world it would seem. I do embrace the idea of buying coffee that is sold under the Fair Trade system and I much prefer the organically grown coffees that are better for our environment. I love making my single cups and the variety that offers me. I also like sharing the new brands and concepts of brewing at Bev’s Coffee Break, my blog all about coffee. Perhaps a creative person in an advertising agency somewhere will find some new slogans for coffee that will warm our hearts and fill our cups with the new ways of drinking coffee. There is always hope.
