Squidoo Induction: links and resources to teach you how to Squidoo
Squidoo Induction is a collection of lenses and links that I regularly use to help me with my Squidoo lensmaking. Aimed at the Squidoo newby, it is also a useful resource for more experienced Lensmasters, because it is amazing how you can have been active on Squidoo for a long time and still manage to miss the most helpful lenses.
In the almost two years that I have been on Squidoo, I have seen what was originally a very steep learning curve level out and the site no longer seems so daunting. Don’t get me wrong, I am still learning because there’s always something new to learn on Squidoo, but now I generally know where to go to find the help I need.
Set out in what I hope is a logical progression, this lens is full of Squidoo tips and encourages Lensmasters to stop and think about several important issues as they set out on their journey to making their first lens. The first port of call is the Squidoo Terms of Service (TOS), which you are deemed to have read and accepted by the very act of publishing a lens. However, from comments made regularly in the SquidU Forum, it is obvious that not only do some new Squidoo members NOT read the TOS, even those who have think they can ignore them.
On the next stage of your Lensmaking Journey you are recommended to check out Lenses made to help you find your way through the maze of modules that are available to help you make stellar lenses. There’s also a brilliant lens that helps with HTML, for those times when you want to get more creative with your Text modules.
You are then encouraged to break your journey and take a reality check. You are asked to take look at yourself in the mirror and be honest about what you see. Yes, personal branding is an area that the newby Lensmaster may not have thought of – neither have some more experienced lensmasters
Another good lens to check out is one that tells you how NOT to make a lens and you are then introduced to Keyword Research and Lens Promotion with lenses that give you step by step instructions.
No Squidoo Induction would be complete without an introduction to various tools that this Lensmaster, and many others, just would not be without. Then there’s links to very active and supportive Squidoo Networking groups plus an introduction to some of the army of Organisers and Volunteers who work so hard to make Squidoo such a special community.
Squidoo Induction is just a small part of what you can find on the site to help you learn how to Squidoo, but I hope it helps you climb that learning curve a bit quicker than I did!
